中国咖啡市场释放强劲引力The Chinese coffee market releases strong attraction
Recently, coffee beans from over 20 coffee producing countries gathered in Beijing to showcase at the 2026 China International Coffee Exhibition. This exhibition brings together more than 200 global boutique coffee and baking brands, bringing a global flavor feast and reflecting the strong appeal and consumer vitality of the Chinese market.
Global flavors flock to Beijing
The 2026 China Urban Coffee Development Report shows that the scale of China's coffee industry will reach 354.9 billion yuan by 2025, a year-on-year increase of 13.3%; The compound annual growth rate from 2020 to 2024 exceeds 23%, which is about six times the medium to long-term growth rate of the global coffee market.
This rapidly expanding market has attracted major coffee producing countries around the world to continue to increase their layout, and exhibitors from various countries are competing to promote local specialty products through exhibition platforms.
The exhibition booth of the China Latin America Cultural Exchange Center not only features Guixia coffee from Panama and Ecuador, but also organic chocolate and flavored banana slices from Ecuador. The rich "cross-border" products have attracted many visitors to stop and taste; Ugandan exhibitors bring premium Arabica beans produced at an altitude of over 1500 meters, showcasing the unique flavors of chocolate and caramel from African regions; NAPOLI Group in Vietnam is bringing its popular cappuccino products to the domestic market, hoping to further expand into the Chinese market.
This is our third time participating in the exhibition, and Colombia is the third largest coffee supplier to China, "Oscar, Commercial Counsellor of the Colombian Embassy in China, told the International Business Daily reporter. With quality advantages such as manual picking and water washing, Colombian coffee is renowned worldwide.
Oscar also presented a highly contrasting set of data: currently, the per capita annual coffee consumption in China is only 18 cups, while in Colombia, this data is as high as 333 cups. The huge growth potential has enabled overseas production areas to continue to have a positive outlook on the Chinese market and seize opportunities in China.
Domestic premium coffee competition on the same stage
While overseas coffee producing regions are seizing the opportunity in China, domestic specialty coffee also has a good chance to compete on the same stage. Chinese and foreign brands compete on the same stage and exchange ideas in both directions, outlining the coordinated development of the entire coffee industry chain.
At the exhibition, Lujiazui Coffee brought the gold medal blended beans from IIAC International Coffee Tasting Competition, while showcasing Yunnan Baoshan small grain coffee. Yunnan premium coffee is strong but not strong, with a black and creamy aroma, suitable for Italian coffee production, showcasing the quality potential of local coffee beans, "Zhao Yingjie, the head of the company's new media, told reporters.
Wistech (Tianjin) International Trade Co., Ltd., a full industry chain service provider, showcased Italian limited edition handmade coffee machines, coffee companion milk suitable for Asian people, Italian handmade ice cream, and also brought Yunnan Pakamara coffee tree exhibits. It relies on 13 coffee colleges across the country to cultivate coffee talents, and while introducing high-quality overseas resources, strives to promote the dissemination of Chinese coffee culture to the outside world.
Small coffee beans not only build a bridge for taste buds, but also serve as a major channel for economic and trade exchanges. From high-quality raw materials from overseas to the steady growth of domestic specialty coffee, this coffee industry event is not only a vivid reflection of domestic consumption upgrading, but also a vivid footnote to high-level openness. Whether it's the taste buds of consumers partying or the surging business opportunities of practitioners, they are all lingering in the aroma of cups of coffee, continuing to write the story of cooperation between agricultural product trade and service consumption.
